IAP Immunization Schedule 2026: Complete Age-Wise Vaccine Chart for Indian Children

By The Vaccine Panda Team·

The updated 2026 IAP vaccine schedule for children 0–18, explained age by age — birth doses, primary series, boosters, and the new HPV and trivalent-flu changes every Delhi NCR parent should know.

Keeping track of which vaccine is due when is one of the most common worries we hear from parents across Delhi NCR. The Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) updates its recommended immunization schedule regularly, and the 2026 revision — finalised by the IAP Advisory Committee on Vaccines and Immunization Practices (ACVIP) — carries a few important changes. This is a plain-English, age-by-age guide to what your child needs and when.

Quick note: This article is educational and follows the IAP 2026 recommendations. Your paediatrician may personalise the schedule based on your child's health, catch-up needs, or vaccine availability. When in doubt, ask — or book a home visit and our team will map out a plan for your child.

What's new in the IAP 2026 schedule

  • Trivalent flu replaces quadrivalent: IAP now recommends the trivalent (three-strain) influenza vaccine instead of the quadrivalent version, reflecting the global withdrawal of the B/Yamagata strain from circulation.
  • National free HPV campaign: In early 2026 the Government of India launched a nationwide free HPV vaccination drive for 14-year-old girls, using a single-dose schedule. HPV remains strongly recommended by IAP for both girls and boys.
  • Indigenous Td vaccine: A new India-made Tetanus–Diphtheria (Td) vaccine is now part of the supply chain.

Missed a dose? Catch-up is almost always possible

If your child has fallen behind — very common after a move, an illness, or the newborn blur — you rarely have to start over. IAP has catch-up schedules for nearly every vaccine. The key is to resume, not restart. Our nurses carry the full schedule and can build a personalised catch-up plan during a home visit.
